Below are links to some standard wording for scrolls, but there are a few important things to bear in mind.

  • You can change up the wording as much as you want as long as you keep the foundational and important bits.
  • Do not write out the actual AS or Gregorian years as the scrolls may sit in the case for a very long time.
  • Do not put Rex/Regina or King/Queen etc. at the bottom of the scrolls as the titles the Crown uses change fairly often. If you need to designate signature space, simply write it very lightly in pencil.
  • Try to avoid using the Crown’s names in the scroll text as it limits the ability to use the scroll.
  • In MOB scrolls, please reword the phrase “Art of Defense” to “Art of Swordsmanship” or another similar sentiment to avoid confusion with the MOD.
  • When writing text for an Award of Arms, be sure to avoid the word “Grant” as it implies a higher award. For the purposes of grammar, it is perfectly acceptable to change the words so they read in the active voice: “… We would therefore Award/Grant them Arms.”
  • You do not have to have the Soveriegn’s and Consort’s names inside the scroll text itself.
